UK: Ex-British soldier accused of terrorism appears in court

Hey guest, welcome to Like to see
Former British soldier James Matthew who fought against so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS, ISIL) in Syria appeared in Westminster Magistrates Court in London on Wednesday, to answer to terrorism charges. Supporters of James Matthews with banners and masks of his face stood outside the court to protest the charges.

For Mark Campell, a British national, what the British government is doing is "shameful" and "the only reason they are attempting to prosecute Jim today is because of arms sales to Turkey and to trying to keep the Turkish state happy."

Allegedly, during his time in Syria and Iraq, where Matthews fought alongside YPG Kurdish militia forces, he attended sites used for terrorist training.

The 43-year-old attended Westminster Magistrates' Court and took a not guilty plea to the charges.
